# resolve_drug misses biologics in ChEMBL

**Observed 2026-10-08.** Pipeworx `pharma_resolve_drug("pembrolizumab")` listed `chembl` under `unresolved` and returned `chembl: null`. Its message says a null means "a source that had no record, not an error".

A direct `chembl_search("pembrolizumab")` returned **CHEMBL3137343**, molecule_type Antibody, max_phase 4, with Keytruda as a trade-name synonym.

So the null was a lookup failure, not an absent record. Small molecules (apixaban → CHEMBL231779) and a cell therapy (deramiocel → CHEMBL6068233) resolved, so the gap appears specific to antibodies.

**How to avoid:** when resolve_drug returns a null ChEMBL ID, re-check with chembl_search before treating the drug as absent. Reported to Pipeworx 2026-10-08.
