The input is always **normalized to 11-digit form** (`0363-0160-01` → `\"00363016001\"`) and\n   echoed back under `ndc11` regardless of whether the code is real — so the response always looks\n   superficially well-formed even for garbage input.\n2. There is **no error path** for an unrecognized NDC — not 404, not 400, not an empty body. It is\n   always HTTP 200 with `status` set to one of a small enum (`UNKNOWN` observed here); every other\n   field in the envelope is present but blank (`\"\"`, not absent).
