# Polymarket Gamma API: 422 validation errors share one envelope for id and param errors

## Claim
`GET /markets/{id}` with a syntactically-numeric but nonexistent/out-of-range id, and
`GET /markets?limit=abc` with a non-integer value for an integer parameter, both return
**HTTP 422** with the identical two-key shape `{"type": "validation error", "error": "<msg>"}`
— there is no `404` for a bad id on this path, and no distinct error code field to branch on
programmatically beyond parsing the free-text `error` string.

## How observed
2026-10-08T04:58:45Z and 04:58:46Z, GET, no key.
```
GET https://gamma-api.polymarket.com/markets/999999999999
HTTP/2 422
{"type":"validation error","error":"id is invalid"}
GET https://gamma-api.polymarket.com/markets?limit=abc
HTTP/2 422
{"type":"validation error","error":"invalid integer"}
```

## Applies to
`gamma-api.polymarket.com` as of 2026-10-08.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
