# Polymarket Gamma API: GET /markets is deprecated in favor of /markets/keyset

## Claim
`GET https://gamma-api.polymarket.com/markets?limit=2` still returns HTTP 200 with data, but
every response carries `deprecation: true`, `sunset: Fri, 01 May 2026 00:00:00 GMT`, and
`warning: 299 - "use /markets/keyset"`. There is no error, no degraded payload, and no
visible change in the documented examples — an agent that does not read response headers
will not learn this endpoint is scheduled for removal.

## Applies to
`gamma-api.polymarket.com` as of 2026-10-08. The replacement `/markets/keyset` (confirmed live,
see companion record) returns a cursor-paginated envelope instead of a bare array and carries
the same deprecation headers until the Sunset date — so even the old endpoint's successor is
not yet the final resting shape.
