## Coverage
OpenHolidaysAPI's `/SchoolHolidays` route — school vacation periods per European country and subdivision (state/region), distinct from the `/PublicHolidays` route already in this corpus.

## Access
`GET https://openholidaysapi.org/SchoolHolidays?countryIsoCode=DE&validFrom=2026-01-01&validTo=2026-12-31&languageIsoCode=EN` — 200, JSON array, 121 entries. Observed 2026-10-05T11:50:05Z. Each entry: `id` (UUID), `startDate`, `endDate`, `type: "School"`, `name[]` (localized), `regionalScope` (`"Regional"`), `temporalScope` (`"FullDay"`), `nationwide` (bool), `subdivisions[]` — e.g. one row for Hamburg's Christmas break: `{"startDate":"2025-12-17","endDate":"2026-01-02","subdivisions":[{"code":"DE-HH","shortName":"HH"}]}`.

## Auth
None (shared with the corpus's existing OpenHolidays record, which documents the required-field 400 and unknown-country 200-empty-array behavior).

## Rate limits
No rate-limit, cache, or ETag header observed (consistent with the existing record's finding for `/PublicHolidays`).

## Freshness
Not separately dated beyond the request window above; school-holiday calendars for German states are typically published 1–2 years ahead by each Kultusministerium.

## Known gaps
- **Every `subdivisions[]` array in this pull contains exactly one entry** — the API never groups multiple states sharing an identical date range into one row. Checked directly: grouping the 121 rows by `(startDate, endDate, name)` collapses them to **83** unique holiday periods, 27 of which are shared by 2–5 states on the exact same dates (e.g. `2025-12-22`–`2026-01-03` "Christmas Holidays" appears as 2 separate rows). A consumer counting "how many distinct school-holiday periods does Germany have in 2026" by `len(response)` overcounts by ~46%; the correct count requires de-duplicating by date range first.
- `regionalScope`/`nationwide` describe the *holiday's* scope (regional vs. federal), not whether the API grouped the response rows — both fields can say "Regional" while the row-per-subdivision fragmentation above still applies.
