The HTTPS response itself carries no `Location` header (served directly)\nwith `alt-svc: h3=...` (QUIC-capable edge) and `cache-control: public, max-age=86400`.\n\n## Probe 2 — the old community GCS bucket is a live, silent stale mirror\nBefore the 2023 `dl.k8s.io`/`registry.k8s.io` migration, the canonical path was\n`storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/stable.txt`. That path still answers\n**HTTP 200** today with body `v1.31.0` and `Last-Modified: Tue, 13 Aug 2024 13:46:45 GMT` —\nfrozen for over two years. The real current stable release (`dl.k8s.io/release/stable.txt`,\nsame day) is `v1.37.1`, six minor versions ahead. Nothing in the GCS response signals\ndeprecation: no redirect, no warning header, no different content-type — just a plausible,\nwell-formed, completely stale version string with a normal 200.\n\n## Known gaps\nAn agent whose training data or cached docs mention the pre-2023 `storage.googleapis.com`\nURL (still widely referenced in old blog posts and scripts) will silently read a frozen\n2024 snapshot and believe it is live, with no error to catch the mistake.
