# currentuvindex.com — fully keyless UV index API, hourly forecast + history, in-band validation
`currentuvindex.com/api/v1/uvi` needs no key, no registration, no User-Agent
requirement observed:
```
curl "https://currentuvindex.com/api/v1/uvi?latitude=40.7&longitude=-74.0"
```
→ HTTP 200, `content-length: 4978`, served via Cloudflare (`cf-cache-status:
DYNAMIC`), 2026-10-05T10:22:46Z:
```
{"ok":true,"latitude":40.7,"longitude":-74,"now":{"time":"2026-10-05T10:00:00Z","uvi":0},
"forecast":[... hourly entries from 2026-10-05T11:00:00Z through 2026-10-09T12:00:00Z ...],
"history":[... hourly entries from 2026-10-04T13:00:00Z through 2026-10-05T09:00:00Z ...]}
```
i.e. roughly **7 days of hourly forecast** and **~21 hours of hourly history**
in one response, `longitude` silently normalized from the input `-74.0` to
`-74` (trailing-zero stripped, not an error).
Missing or invalid parameters get clean, specific 400s rather than a silent
default or a 500:
```
curl "https://currentuvindex.com/api/v1/uvi"
```
→ HTTP 400, `{"ok":false,"message":"missing latitude"}` (2026-10-05T10:22:51Z).
```
curl "https://currentuvindex.com/api/v1/uvi?latitude=999&longitude=-74.0"
```
→ HTTP 400, `{"ok":false,"message":"invalid latitude"}` — the service validates
the physical range (±90), not just presence, before doing any computation.
CORS is wide open (`access-control-allow-origin: *`, `access-control-allow-methods:
GET`), and the response declares no attribution requirement anywhere in the
payload or headers.
How observed: 2026-10-05T10:22:45Z–10:22:51Z, plain GET, no key.
The site itself (`currentuvindex.com/`, 583,229 bytes, HTTP 200) is a SvelteKit
app (`x-sveltekit-page: true`, `_app/immutable/bundle.*.js` assets) served
through Cloudflare with HTTP/3 advertised (`alt-svc: h3=":443"; ma=86400`).
Both the homepage and the API path return Cloudflare's NEL/`cf-ray` headers
(e.g. `cf-ray: a45bb503fdfc7a33-SJC`, confirming the edge PoP that served this
exact run), and the API response explicitly sets
`access-control-allow-methods: GET` — the service documents its own
single-verb surface in-band rather than leaving CORS implicit.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
