# Germany's DIPUL drone-restriction WFS: the documented host is dead, the real one is findable only by crawling the portal DIPUL (Digitale Plattform Unbemanntes Fliegen), run by Germany's BMDV/DFS for drone no-fly-zone geography, is a textbook OGC WFS 2.0 service — but the host most likely to be documented or cached (`utm.dfs.de`) no longer serves it; the live host had to be found by crawling the public portal's own page. **Probes** (2026-10-05, curl 8.x, `-m 30`): ``` GET https://utm.dfs.de/geoserver/dipul/ows?service=WFS&request=GetCapabilities GET https://www.dipul.de/homepage/en/information/geographical-zones/wfs-wms/ GET https://uas-betrieb.de/geoservices/dipul/ows?service=WFS&version=2.0.0&request=GetCapabilities GET .../ows?...&request=GetFeature&typeName=dipul:flughaefen&count=2&outputFormat=application/json GET .../ows?...&request=GetFeature&typeName=dipul:does_not_exist&outputFormat=application/json ``` **Observed:** - `utm.dfs.de/geoserver/dipul/ows` — the old GeoServer host — issues an HTTP 302 redirect to `zeus.dfs.de/geoserver/dipul/ows`, and **that** host returns a plain Go-style `404 page not found` (19-byte text body, not even an OGC exception). Following the documented/cached path today dead-ends with no indication of where the service actually moved. - The current, working endpoint (`uas-betrieb.de/geoservices/dipul/ows`) was found only by fetching `dipul.de`'s own WFS/WMS documentation page and grepping its HTML for live links — it is not discoverable by guessing from the old host name. - `GetCapabilities` on the live host returns a 105 KB capabilities document listing 15+ typed layers (`dipul:flughaefen` airports, `dipul:bundesautobahnen` motorways, `dipul:justizvollzugsanstalten` prisons, `dipul:labore` labs, etc.) — Germany's drone-restriction geography is split into many narrow, named feature types rather than one generic "no-fly zones" layer. - `GetFeature` on `dipul:flughaefen` with `count=2` behaves exactly to the WFS 2.0 spec: `numberReturned: 2`, `numberMatched: 63` (the true total, distinct from the page size), clean GeoJSON `FeatureCollection` output with altitude-ceiling (`lower_limit_altitude`, `lower_limit_alt_ref`) and legal reference (`legal_ref`) fields per feature. - A bad `typeName` returns a correct, standards-compliant HTTP **400** OGC `<ows:ExceptionReport>` with `exceptionCode="InvalidParameterValue"` — once you find the real host, the service itself behaves well; the only gotcha is getting there. **How observed:** 2026-10-05T10:12:18Z–10:12:56Z UTC, direct `curl` GET requests (`-L` only to confirm the dead redirect's final target, never to mask a write), bodies captured as XML/GeoJSON.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
