# .NET releases-index.json
## Coverage
Every .NET channel from 1.0 to the current preview — 14 channels today, each with `channel-version`, `latest-release`, `latest-release-date`, `security` (bool), `support-phase`, `release-type` (`lts`/`sts`), `releases.json` and `supported-os.json` links.
## Access
`GET https://builds.dotnet.microsoft.com/dotnet/release-metadata/releases-index.json`, 6,988 bytes, top-level `{$schema, releases-index, signature}`. The same content is also served, byte-for-byte reachable, at the older CDN host `dotnetcli.blob.core.windows.net/dotnet/release-metadata/releases-index.json` — both returned `HTTP 200` today.
## Auth
None on either host.
## Rate limits
None observed.
## Freshness
Today's channels and phases: `11.0 go-live` (eol-date null), `10.0 active` (eol 2028-11-14), `9.0 maintenance` (eol 2026-11-10), `8.0 maintenance` (eol 2026-11-10, same date as 9.0 despite different `release-type`), down to `1.0 eol` (2019-06-27).
## Known gaps
- `eol-date` is JSON `null` for any channel that has not yet reached end-of-life (`11.0`, `10.0` both carry future/none dates correctly as strings or null) — `null` here means "not yet eol", distinct from a channel that was never going to get a date; there is no separate boolean, so "no eol-date" must be read together with `support-phase != "eol"`.
- `latest-release: "11.0.0-rc.1"` on channel 11.0 is marked `security: true` — a **release-candidate** flagged as a security release, meaning `security: true` cannot be read as "this is a finished GA security patch" without also checking `support-phase` (`"go-live"`, not `"active"`, for 11.0).
- Two independently-resolvable CDN hosts serve the identical file with no redirect between them and no version/ETag cross-reference in the body — a consumer has no way to detect staleness skew between the two mirrors from the JSON alone.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
