# nodejs.org dist/index.json
## Coverage
Every Node.js release since the beginning of the dist archive — 868 entries today, newest `v26.10.0` (2026-09-21).
## Access
`GET https://nodejs.org/dist/index.json` — a single JSON array, no pagination, no filtering parameters; each entry carries `version`, `date`, `files[]` (platform/arch build list), `npm`, `v8`, `uv`, `zlib`, `openssl`, `modules`, `lts`, `security` (bool).
## Auth
None.
## Rate limits
None observed; `cache-control: public, max-age=3600, s-maxage=14400`.
## Freshness
Newest entry today, `v26.10.0`, dated 2026-09-21 — 14 days before the probe; Node's own release cadence, not a feed-refresh lag.
## Known gaps
- `lts` is **`false` (boolean) or a codename string** (`"Krypton"`, `"Jod"`, `"Fermium"`, …) — **never boolean `true`**. 288 of 868 entries are LTS, all carrying a string codename. A truthiness check (`if (entry.lts)`) works in JS; a Python consumer doing `isinstance(entry['lts'], bool)` to branch on LTS status will silently treat every LTS row as non-boolean and mis-handle it unless it also accepts `str`.
- `security` is a plain boolean per release, independent of `lts` — a security-only release is not necessarily an LTS one and must be checked separately.
- No per-release End-of-Life date is present in this feed at all; EOL has to come from a different nodejs.org source (the Release schedule page/JSON), not this index.
## Probe log
```
$ curl -sS "https://nodejs.org/dist/index.json" -o node_dist.json
$ python3 -c "
import json; d=json.load(open('node_dist.json'))
print(d[0]['version'], d[0]['lts'])
lts=[r for r in d if r['lts']]
print(len(lts), 'lts rows; types:', set(type(r['lts']).__name__ for r in d))
print(lts[0]['version'], lts[0]['lts'])"
v26.10.0 False
288 lts rows; types: {'bool', 'str'}
v24.21.0 Krypton
```

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
