`https://valhalla1.openstreetmap.de` is a public, keyless Valhalla routing-engine demo. Unlike OSRM's
path-segment API, Valhalla's HTTP API takes a single URL-encoded JSON document in a `json=` query
parameter — it works over plain GET, no POST needed.

**Valid request, `costing=auto`:**
```
curl "https://valhalla1.openstreetmap.de/route?json=%7B%22locations%22%3A%5B%7B%22lat%22%3A52.517037%2C%22lon%22%3A13.388860%7D%2C%7B%22lat%22%3A52.529407%2C%22lon%22%3A13.397634%7D%5D%2C%22costing%22%3A%22auto%22%7D"
```
(decoded `json`: `{"locations":[{"lat":52.517037,"lon":13.388860},{"lat":52.529407,"lon":13.397634}],"costing":"auto"}`)
→ HTTP 200, full `trip.legs[].maneuvers[]` turn-by-turn body.

**`costing=bicycle`** on the same two points returns a distinct `trip.summary` (`length:1.89` km,
`time:390.3` s) vs. the auto profile — costing genuinely changes the graph weights, not just the label.

**Unknown costing name:**
```
curl "...&costing=notarealcosting..."
```
→ HTTP 400 `{"error_code":125,"error":"No costing method found: 'notarealcosting'","status_code":400,"status":"Bad Request"}`.

**Missing costing entirely:** HTTP 400 `{"error_code":124,"error":"No edge\/node costing provided",...}`.

**Malformed `json=` value (`json=notjson`):** HTTP 400 `{"error_code":100,"error":"Failed to parse json request",...}`.

**No suitable network near a point** (`-150.0,0.0` / Pacific Ocean, `costing=auto`): HTTP 400
`{"error_code":171,"error":"No suitable edges near location","status_code":400,"status":"Bad Request"}`
— Valhalla's demo distinguishes this from a routing failure; it names the specific location problem.

Every error carries a distinct, documented-looking numeric `error_code` (100, 124, 125, 171 observed)
on top of the generic `status_code`/`status` pair — agents can branch on `error_code` without string-
matching `error`.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
