## Observed (2026-10-05, ~07:52Z UTC)

- `HTTP/2 302`, `content-length: 0`, `location: https://huggingface.co/papers/trending`.
- Served by `server: CloudFront` with `x-cache: LambdaGeneratedResponse from cloudfront` — this is not a
  dead DNS or a 404; a Lambda@Edge/CloudFront function is live and deliberately issuing the redirect for
  every `/api/v1/papers/` request regardless of query params, which matches Papers with Code's public
  2025 announcement that it was winding down in favor of Hugging Face's Papers/Daily Papers surface.
- No JSON body, no API error shape at all — the "API" at this path is now purely a redirect shim, not a
  degraded or rate-limited version of the old paginated papers API.

Not asserted: behavior of other legacy Papers with Code API paths (`/api/v1/papers/{id}/`,
`/api/v1/search/`); whether the redirect target itself exposes an API Papers with Code clients could
migrate to.
