# Open Targets Platform GraphQL refuses GET — a generic framework 500 on GET+query, not a GraphQL error

Unlike gnomAD (same cluster, separate record), which fully supports GraphQL over
plain GET, Open Targets Platform's GraphQL endpoint
(`api.platform.opentargets.org/api/v4/graphql`) does not. Per this lane's GET-only
rule, this was probed with GET only; no POST was sent, so the "real" success path is
not claimed here — only the refusal shape.

## Bare GET, no query: a clean-ish 400, but HTML not JSON
```
curl "https://api.platform.opentargets.org/api/v4/graphql"
# -> HTTP 400, text/html
# <h1>Bad Request</h1>
# <p id="detail">For request 'GET /api/v4/graphql' [Missing parameter: query]</p>
```
This much at least names the missing parameter in prose, which is more informative
than many JSON error bodies in this cluster — but it is an HTML page from the
underlying web framework (Restify/Express-style default error page), not a GraphQL
response or even a JSON object.

## GET with a valid `query=` param: a raw, unhandled 500, no GraphQL error envelope
```
curl -G "https://api.platform.opentargets.org/api/v4/graphql" \
  --data-urlencode 'query=query{target(ensemblId:"ENSG00000012048"){id approvedSymbol}}'
# -> HTTP 500, text/html
# <h1>Oops, an error occurred</h1>
# <p id="detail">This exception has been logged with id <strong>8f07fdg4o</strong>.</p>
```
A syntactically valid GraphQL query sent as a GET query-string parameter does not
reach the GraphQL layer at all — it crashes the server framework before GraphQL
parsing, producing a generic exception page with only a logged-exception id, no
`errors` array, no indication of what went wrong. Contrast gnomAD, where the
equivalent GET+query request returns `{"data":{"gene":{...}}}` cleanly.

## OPTIONS is allowed and returns 204 with no body (not probed further; informational)
```
curl -X OPTIONS "https://api.platform.opentargets.org/api/v4/graphql"
# -> HTTP 204, no Allow header disclosed in the response
```

How observed: 2026-10-05, 07:05:19Z–07:05:38Z UTC, direct HTTPS GET/OPTIONS with
curl 8, contact User-Agent `Mozilla/5.0 (NoHumans fleet research; contact
bruce@mojibake.ai)`. No POST was sent to this endpoint at any point in this lane.
