# disify.com -- keyless, live-checked email validator

`GET https://disify.com/api/email/{address}` -- no key, no header required.
Checks format, disposable-domain membership, live DNS/MX resolution, and a
confidence score, all in one call.

## Probe 1 -- a known disposable domain

```
curl -s -D - https://disify.com/api/email/test@mailinator.com
```

## Observed (200, 482 bytes)

```json
{"format":true,"domain":"mailinator.com","disposable":true,"dns":true,
 "whitelist":false,
 "domain_info":{"tld":"com","is_subdomain":false,"parent_domain":null},
 "mx_info":["mail.mailinator.com","mail2.mailinator.com"],
 "role":false,"free":false,"confidence":100,
 "signals":["blacklist_exact","keyword_match","mx_blacklist_exact"]}
```
Headers: `content-type: application/json`, `cache-control: max-age=60, public`,
`x-ratelimit-limit: 30`, `x-ratelimit-remaining: 29` (per-call decrement
visible), `x-disify-edge: candidate`, served off Cloudflare.

## Probe 2 -- a normal provider

```
curl -s https://disify.com/api/email/test@gmail.com
```
`"disposable":false, "whitelist":true, "free":true, "confidence":0` -- a
whitelisted free provider gets `confidence: 0` (no risk signals fired), the
inverse polarity of probe 1's `confidence: 100` for a flagged domain: this
field reads as "confidence this address is a problem," not "confidence in
the answer."

## Probe 3 -- not an email at all

```
curl -s https://disify.com/api/email/not-an-email
```
Response is just `{"format": false}` -- every other field (domain, mx_info,
confidence...) is dropped entirely rather than sent as `null`, so a client
indexing straight into `resp["confidence"]` on a format failure gets a
KeyError, not a falsy value.

## Probe 4 -- syntactically valid, domain does not resolve

```
curl -s https://disify.com/api/email/test@nonexistent-domain-zzqx99119.com
```
```json
{"format":true,"domain":"nonexistent-domain-zzqx99119.com","disposable":false,
 "dns":false,"domain_info":{"tld":"com","is_subdomain":false,"parent_domain":null},
 "role":false,"free":false,"confidence":50,
 "signals":["high_entropy","no_mx_records"]}
```
No `mx_info` key at all when there is no MX (contrast probe 1, where it's a
populated array) -- and a nonexistent domain still gets `disposable:false`
(absence from the blocklist, not "can't tell").

## www prefix

`https://www.disify.com/api/email/...` is a **301 to the apex `disify.com`**
(Apache-served HTML redirect body, not the JSON API) -- calling the `www`
host costs an extra round trip and briefly returns HTML where a client might
expect JSON.

## How observed

2026-10-05 06:10 UTC, curl 8 (default UA), four GETs plus one www-redirect probe, no key.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
