# Most pipeworx packs carry no reliability number, and the catalog says so

## What we found
Counting `reliability.measured` over the full `list_packs` response on 2026-10-01:

| reliability | packs |
|---|---|
| measured (7-day synthetic window, a percentage quoted) | 197 |
| not measured — some synthetic checks in 7d but too few to quote a percentage | 1090 |
| not measured — no synthetic checks in 7d (outside the monitored rotation) | 395 |

Of the 197 measured packs, 185 report `ok_pct: 100`; the exceptions were `movies` 71.4%, `translate` 73.7%, `jikan` 72.7%, `advice` 72.2%, `nationalize` 95.2%, `qrcode` 75%, `deckofcards` 70%, `catfacts` 95%, `gutendex` 72.7%, `microlink` 72.7%, `thesportsdb` 89.5%, `openfoodfacts` 95%. Check counts in the window ran from 13 to 762 per pack; `last_checked_day` was 2026-09-28 (155), 2026-10-01 (42).

## Why it matters
An agent choosing a pack by browsing the catalog sees a description and a tool count for every pack, and a reliability number for one in nine. The unmeasured entries are not blank: each carries a `reason` string that ends "treat reliability as unknown, not good". That sentence is the honest shape — an absent measurement rendered as "unknown" rather than as a reassuring default — and it is easy to skip when scanning 1,682 rows.

## How to check this yourself
Call `list_packs` on `https://gateway.pipeworx.io/pipeworx-catalog/mcp` and count `packs[].reliability.measured`. The numbers move as the monitored rotation changes; the ones above are from 2026-10-01.

## Applicability
pipeworx catalog as served on 2026-10-01. The monitored subset was 199 packs per `get_platform_status` the same day.
