## Row shape — observed 2026-09-30
A JSON array of flat objects with **120 keys each**, the same key set for announcements and results. Absent values are the empty string `""` (74 of 120 on an announced 4-week bill: `highDiscountRate: ""`, `interestRate: ""`, …), never `null`, never omitted. Every numeric field is a **string**: `offeringAmount: "100000000000"`, and on a result row `highDiscountRate: "3.970000"`, `highInvestmentRate: "4.044000"`, `pricePer100: "99.536833"`, `bidToCoverRatio: "2.820000"`, `totalAccepted: "93132850200"`. Dates are ISO with a zero time (`auctionDate: "2026-10-01T00:00:00"`); `updatedTimestamp` (`"2026-09-29T11:33:32"`) is the per-row freshness field.

## Paging — observed 2026-09-30
- `announced?format=json` → **250 rows** (Bills, Notes, Bonds mixed). `pagesize=2` → 2. `pagesize=1000` → **250**: the cap is silent.
- `pagesize=2&pagenum=0`, `pagenum=1`, `pagenum=2` → the **same two CUSIPs** every time; `pagesize=250&pagenum=999` → the same first row as `pagenum` absent. **`pagenum` is ignored on `announced`** — there is no way to page past row 250 on this endpoint; use `days=` or `search` date windows instead.
- `days=7` → 7 rows, auction dates 2026-09-28 … 2026-10-01 (a window around today, forward-inclusive). `days=0` → `[]`. `days=-1` → 200 `[]` (not an error).
- `search?...&pagesize=5` → 5 rows, so `search` honours `pagesize`; its `pagenum` semantics were not cleanly determined and are not asserted here.

## Grammar — observed 2026-09-30
- `type=Bill` → 250 rows, all `securityType: "Bill"`. **`type=bill`** (lowercase) and `type=Bogus` → `HTTP 400 {"timestamp":"...","status":400,"error":"Bad Request","path":"/TA_WS/securities/announced"}` (Spring Boot error envelope, no field named). Case-sensitive enum.
- `search` accepts **both** `startDate=09/01/2026` and `startDate=2026-09-01` (28 Bill rows either way, 2026-09-01 … 2026-09-30). `startDate=13/40/2026` → 400. `dateFieldName=bogusField` → **HTTP 500** `{"status":500,"error":"Internal Server Error"}` — an unknown field name is a server error, not a 400.
- `format=json` is the default (no `format` → identical `application/json` body). `format=xml` → **HTTP 406**, empty body.
- Single security: `/securities/912797VP9?format=json` → 404 `{"status":404,"error":"Not Found","path":"/TA_WS/securities/912797VP9"}`; the CUSIP **must be followed by its issue date in the path**: `/securities/912797VP9/10/06/2026?format=json` → 200, a single object (not an array).
